REBELLION & AMUSEMENTS
Illustrated Installation
My work is an illustrated installation in which the circus becomes the arena of the 2025 uprising in Israel. It is a chaotic, satirical, and multi-layered environment that exposes mechanisms of power through a biting visual performance.
The project draws inspiration from the ancient circus, historically used as a political tool of distraction and control through the strategy of bread and circuses. In this work, I reverse that logic, focusing on the moment of uprising when the human spirit reclaims its place in the arena and dismantles the mechanism designed to pacify it.
For me, the circus is a metaphor for the reality we inhabit: a dazzling spectacle that conceals pain, violence, and resistance beneath its surface.
The installation was first presented as my graduation project and was later exhibited in the group exhibition Once Again at the Edmond de Rothschild Center.
